Improving the performance of the transportation system – it’s a challenge that every traffic management center (TMC) faces. The goals are the same for every TMC – reduce incident time, respond to incidents faster and provide the public with a better travel experience. It was no different for FDOT District One, District Two, District Five, District Six or District Seven when each district began looking for new solutions for their respective TMCs.
Each district knew they wanted the ability to see, share and respond to incidents in real time, with context to improve incident response and decision making. They chose Activu to help them achieve their operational goals.
Each FDOT district has a complete operational overview of their region; critical information, including traffic camera, satellite and cable feeds and data from sensors or other monitoring systems can be displayed and shared anywhere, from the video wall to operator desktops or conference room monitors. District Five and District Six, which are co-located with other state agencies, use the collaborative capabilities of Activu’s software to facility inter-agency cooperation and coordinate incident response.
