With 220,000 customers in northwest metro Atlanta, Cobb Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) takes their mission of providing reliable, safe electricity seriously. When their existing control room system began to have performance issues and interfere with their ability to provide service, they began looking for a replacement.
Solution
Cobb EMC chose Activu.
Result
Post-installation, Cobb EMC found that their Activu system provided them with capabilities beyond their expectation, allowing them to see and share information in unexpected ways. The ability to see critical information has moved beyond the walls of the Power Control Center and can now be shared in the lineman’s command center, in supervisors’ offices and centralized conference rooms and even on management’s tablets at home. In addition, Cobb EMC’s disaster recovery site is now fully redundant; if the utility were unable to operate in the Power Control Room, operations could easily relocate to the second site and still be fully functional without issue.
