The facility aims to function as a testbed and technology training hub for federal agencies and employees who collaborate via large quantities of visual information in critical functions.

Arlington, VA (January 29, 2019) – Today, Activu Federal Solutions Group announces the opening of its new critical operations simulation and demonstration facility for federal and state agencies, contractors, and private firms who manage critical security, logistics, and infrastructure. Featuring the same Activu software entrusted to run critical operations control rooms for organizations and agencies worldwide–impacting the lives and security of billions globally–the new DC-Metro facility is located on Clarendon Blvd in Arlington, just a few minutes from downtown Washington DC and Reagan National airport.

Already broadly used by the military and homeland security, police and emergency operations, public transportation and transit agencies, airports, and utilities, Activu’s visualization and collaborative software is now conveniently available in their new DC-Metro facility, for demonstration, training, simulations, integration testing, and best-practices education of teams and managers entrusted with the most critical decision-making jobs in the world.

As a partner of display technology market leaders Planar, Delta, and Mitsubishi, and console maker Evans, Activu has assembled the most essential elements to simulate a critical ops environment. The high-tech facility was designed and built by Activu engineers to put Activu’s systems and users through their paces in a variety of critical situations, including Activu’s next-generation visualization and collaboration software platform, vis|ability™.

“Activu invented the standard for modern, network-based critical operations and control room team visualization,” says Paul Noble, CEO of Activu, “and our new DC facility is a shining example of how Activu’s latest software and display solutions help those entrusted with critical decision-making to see, share, and respond to information in real-time, with context, and as a collaborative team–in the same room, or half a world away–on video walls, desktops, and mobile devices.”

Select control room professionals have already experienced the Activu DC-Metro facility before its official launch, seeing it configured as they would expect for their specific security or logistics operations.

Noble adds, “Getting it right is paramount for critical ops professionals. They can’t be distracted by hardware incompatibilities or information overload. Activu’s industry-standard systems are designed to seamlessly run on any hardware, even mobile devices, and automatically raise real-time alert information to the forefront so no precious seconds are lost in a critical situation.”

Activu’s DC-Metro control room facility is now open in the newly-renovated, former Defense Intelligence Agency headquarters at 3100 Clarendon Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201, located directly above the Clarendon metro stop. The Activu control room facility is already slated to host a training seminar for facilities architects and a speaker series in the first quarter of 2019, with more to follow
